Dr. Franz Rueß studierte allgemeine Agrarwissenschaften und promovierte an der Universität Hohenheim. Sein Arbeitsschwerpunkt ist Obstbau. Er ist seit 1995 an der LVWO Weinsberg im Fachbereich Obstbau mit Schwerpunkt Sortenprüfung tätig. Seit 1997 beschäftigt er sich speziell mit der Apfelzüchtung, erste eigene Neuzüchtungen gibt es seit 2014.
